Sneaky Beer Peek no.2
Making it's festival debut this year we have the award winning GFB from Hopback Brewery.
Taken from the brewery website they describe their best loved ale:
GFB, our golden best and our founder John Gilbert’s First Brew over 30 years ago. A hoppy aroma and packed full of the best East Kent Golding hops to give a light clean finish. Tasted to destruction by our brewers!
We definitely can not wait to try this one!

Sneaky Beer Peek no.1
Back by popular demand this year is Irving & Co Brewers Captain B.
This 5.3% spiced rum ale sold out at last years festival so be sure to get in there quickly this year if you want to sample one of Irving's best known brews.
The festival special ale started out as a joke and is a strong, sweet and spicy taste of the Caribbean. With flavours of cinnamon and vanilla with dark sugar notes, its a sure one to hit the spot! | |

2018 Brewery Sneaky Peek!
It is that time of the year again when we give you lovely followers a sneaky peek at some of our suppliers for the Beer Festival. This year we have sourced locally and below are some of the breweries making their Portchester Beer Festival debut this year!

Hopback Brewery was started in 1986 from the cellar of The Wyndham Arms pub in Salisbury, by John Gilbert who was a pioneer of the new wave of microbrewers that appeared in the early 1980s. They have since acquired 2 more pubs and in 1996 won at the Brewing Industry International Awards for the session beer G.F.B. (Gilbert’s First Brew), claiming Gold Medal both in its class and the overall Championship, beating 232 other cask beers!
For more information on the brewery please visit their website www.hopback.co.uk
Flack Manor Brewery are based in Romsey and have been brewing quality cask ale since 2009. We have three of their finest available on the day.

Fallen Acorn Brewery is a micro brewery, based in Gosport that evolved from the award winning Oakleaf Brewery. They specialise in real Ale and craft beers.

Greyhound Brewery was started in 2012 by husband and wife team Nick and Sarah Allen in the kitchen of their West Sussex home. After taking over their double garage with barrel brewing equipment, the business went from strength to strength. They remain a very small brewery focusing on good flavour and experimenting with ingredients, currently supplying casks to local pubs and beer festivals and their bottled beer to local and London based restaurants.

Urban Island Brewing Co. was founded in 2014 and is fast becoming one of Portsmouth's most renowned breweries. They are passionate about brewing beer & enjoy creating a whole range of innovative, quality modern beers, using both traditional and new brewing methods with only the finest malt, Hops and Yeast.
